My pot of taco soup tasted soooo good last night.

When cooler weather hits, I bring out my favorite soup recipes. The taco soup I made last night tasted soooo good.
I browned a lb. of hamburger meat and added a small onion, bell pepper to pan.
In separate pot I added:
1 garlic clove
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 can of Rotel
1 small can of tomato paste
1 can of Pinto beans
1 can of Kidney beans
1 can of whole corn
2 cup of water ( or more if needed )
1 1/2 packages of taco seasoning
Add the browned meat, onions and bell pepper to pot.
Simmer
Serve with shredded cheese on top and chips or sometimes I make a pan of cornbread.  Yummy.

Autumn Fever

I have Autumn fever, folks.  I love the cooler weather and the beautiful leaves changing colors. It makes me want to sit in front of my large windows with a  roaring fire and a good book in my hands. Or, writing on my Romantic suspense short story, Terrorizing Tara.
Which brings to mind, I would love to have guest bloggers for my new blog.  It seems a little bare. Kinda like trees in the winter after the beautiful leaves have fallen.  I would be happy to guest blog on yours in appreciation. I'm looking for Romance authors or Romance readers. You can blog about your favorite author or subject.  Just keep it clean, please. Thanks everyone and Happy Autumn.

My 14th annual Fall Writer's Retreat has come and gone. Sad.  Once a year, my two wonderful critique partners and I meet in a large cabin by a lake. All year long we each plan out what foods, drinks and writing material we will haul to the cabin to do us for three days. I'm always in charge of breakfast and lunch. One is in charge of a scrumptious meal for Friday night, the other one does Saturday.
And, I'm talking good homecooked food, or should I say cuisine. Crabcakes..Oh lord, Stuffed mushrooms, Shrimp and Jasmine rice and Crab casseroles. Yummy. Course, we have wine, beer and mixed drinks to wash it down with and chocolate, chocolate cheese cake, chocolate candy, a large assortment of snacks. This year we had champagne to celebrate our accomplishments.
We eat. We drink and we laugh and stay up to 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning talking. But, most importantly we write. We plot and we brainstorm ideas for our work in process.
This year, my critique partners stressed ( that's a mild word. LOL) that I need to do another follow up to my Romantic Suspense short story TANGLE WITH TARA. So, during our retreat I began the next sequel with TERRORIZING TARA, a Romantic Suspense short story.
My heroine, Detective Tara Woods comes face to face with a serial killer. Murdered women are showing up in shallow graves all over New York in the most unusual ways. Detective Woods had thought she'd seen it all. Until now.
And, her love life is almost as scary. What's a woman to do when she's extremely attracted to both her live-in boyfriend, Jake and her partner, Detective Dobbs? Panic?

TERRORIZING TARA WILL BE RELEASED SOON!  Please visit often for updates.

Talk to you soon. Jerlyn
